Welcome to DCFS Needs Portal, Los Angeles County

In partnership with Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families (DCFS), faith-based organizations, and UCLA, this web-based system is a pilot intervention aimed at increasing access to formal and informal support to serve the needs of families involved with the child welfare system.

This conceptual model is based around a support ticket/helpdesk system that will open the communication between case social workers and both traditional (social service) and non-traditional (faith-based) community agencies. The DCFS needs portal focuses on reducing health disparities due to child maltreatment by attempting to reduce the length of time in care by providing services more efficiently and effectively.
